Robertson Davies

Robertson Davies not only played a critical role in the development of Hart House Theatre, but also on the wider University of Toronto Campus. Along with his contributions to Hart House Theatre he was also the founding master of Massey College. With regards to the theatre, during his time at U of T, he helped create the Graduate Centre for the Study of Drama at U of T in 1966.[i]  This centre contributes numerous productions to Hart House Theatre yearly. Davies himself also directed several pieces and acted in his time at the University. His productions were generally quite artistic and included collaboration between other faculties on campus including the Faculty of Music.[ii]
